Krista Whinnie
Krista Whinnie is a third-year student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte studying Music Education with an instrumental concentration. Outside of school, she is part of the music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota and a marching band staff member at Concord High School, where she graduated from. Krista’s love of music is what inspired her to create this foundation. She had one goal in mind, to give students the chance to be in a place where they can have the sense of welcoming, friendship, and love of music like she did without the burden of finances. As a former marching band member and future educator, Krista knows how important music can be in students' lives and hopes that this foundation will be able to do that for many students.
Nicole Morris
Nicole graduated from Georgia Southern University with a major in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Music. She works as a purchaser for Legion Paper, teaches private piano lessons, and is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota. Through school band programs, she had the opportunity to learn multiple instruments. For six years, the marching band programs at Milton High School and Georgia Southern University played an integral part of her life. Through Forward March Foundation, she is hopeful that many more students will be able to benefit from the positive impact that marching band provides.
